Kinda of the idea, the theme that will develop as I go along, will start with topics inside of programming. Something I consider and interact with every day as a hobby, and it is a study that no matter the level of study has never failed to challenge. There can't be a "top-world-champion" of programming like there is for the Martial Arts because a programmer isn't just judged by how fast they are at producing a product. They also must be judged on how successful their creation weathers the passage of contributors and updates that time brings. Writing a program from scratch might ideally be seen as how to make an initial "seed" and in this way programming can be as delicate as ice assembling to make a snowflake. Code that is well formed allows additional concepts to become part of a larger pattern. I don't want to say that healthy code crystallizes and grows evenly as it ages (it's a simple analogy) but I think it's pretty fair to say that poorly written code acts to inhibit the growth of a codebase.
I think the terms healthy, crystallize, growth, and inhibit invoke clear biological concepts and that's partially parallel evolution, but also just because I enjoy reading on the biological sciences and occasionally make a connection between things. After a time, through writing, i really hope to express myself to add up to a dialog my thoughts on some wide ranging parts of CS, true, but I also hope to show a bit about myself and how I got here. I ask of you, the reader dear, to spare me my use of a few bad analogies along the way, as that is my way :)
